| EFY started off as a one-room setup in New Delhi in 1969. A father and a
son organisation, where the former, S.P. Chopra (the current chairman),
had an extensive experience in journalism, and the son, Ramesh Chopra (the
current managing director), had just passed out of India's premier
technology institute - IIT Madras. |

EFY was coined after its first product — Electronics For You magazine -
which came out with its first issue when the Indian electronics industry
was at a nascent stage. Even television manufacturing started later.
Within a few years, the magazine became very popular as the industry grew.
Now, with a readership exceeding half-a-million readers, EFY is India's
largest selling technical magazine. It also features an optional compact
disc loaded with useful software that many of its readers have loved.

LINUX For You: This magazine is the latest publication from the EFY Group.
Eversince its first issue hit the stands in January 03, this magazine has
been catering to newbies, power-users, administrators, developers and
those belonging to the IT industry. Its main goal is to enhance the return
on investment (RoI) for organisations by deploying Linux (or open-source)
solutions. Accompanied by a FREE CD, which carries source code,
white-papers, software tools, Linux distributions, and even games, the
magazine aims at providing complete solution for deployment of Linux.

BenefIT: The magazine targets small and medium businesses of the Indian
sub-continent (Rs 20 million to Rs 2000 million). Enterprise (Rs 1000

Nov '06 marked the 15th anniversary of 'i.t.' magazine. ePower: Launched in 2000, it is a niche magazine that caters specifically
to the power electronic industry. India, with a huge market for power
saving and supply equipments, provided an opportunity that this magazine
caters to. ePower is targeted towards manufacturers of
electronic-equipment and those providing products and services to them.

Facts For You: Launched in 1980, this magazine is the only non-technical
product of the EFY Group. It aims to influence decisions on the lines of
"Where should we put our money next?" The magazine updates India's top
decision-makers through its regular assortment of market surveys and other
important industrial information.

Directories & Databases: EFY comes out with annual directories covering
two key industries - electronics and IT. The EFY Annual Guide focuses on
the Indian electronics industry and provides a comprehensive listing of
manufactures, importers and national distributors. IT Directory covers the
Indian IT industry and covers the key segments, such as hardware,
software, telecom, service providers, IT-enabled service providers and the
others. The same directories are also available in digital formats on CDs,
titled E-Pages and IT-Pages, respectively. Educational Directory is the
latest addition to EFY's product portfolio.

Books & CDs: With over 30 titles, and at least 2 to 3 titles being
launched every year, this is an activity where EFY Group is increasing its
focus. Books published on Microprocessors, Batteries and Amateur Radio, in
particular, became very popular and had to be reprinted again and again.
EFY's series of 18 books on Electronic Projects are also very popular. In
addition, CDs providing the digital version (PDF files) of the Electronic
Project series have also been successfully launched in India.

Kits 'n' Spares: An associate organisation of the EFY Group, it provides
kits and components, including PCBs and hard-to-find ICs for the
electronic projects and circuit ideas published in Electronics For You
magazine. It has a growing network of dealers all over the country so that
the components and kits can be made available locally for the
experimenters across various towns. Electronic projects are mandatory in
most schools and institutes in India but the components for them are
generally hard to find.

EFY Digital: A division established in 2000 to help EFY stride in the new digital economy, it is responsible for the CDs accompanying the Electronics For You and 'i.t.' magazines. It also launched the current version of the top electronics portal — www.electronicsforu.com, which receives more than 2-million hits every month. The industry databases and the CDs of the Electronic Project series of books have also been produced by EFY Digital. Currently this division is developing solutions for the publishing and the electronics industry.

In India, even though EFY's products reach every city and town, efforts
are always on to further the distribution network as far as possible.
Simultaneously, EFY products are flowing across India's borders through
