With the battle of jobs in e-commerce the online megastores are looking to recruit from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). The recruited students will be put to work on the world’s emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.

Last year, Amazon had taken the lead both in terms of the number of offers made and the salaries offered. Across the campus, it had offered annual packages close to Rs 30 lakh including stock options whereas the Flipkart offered Rs 21 lakh of an annual package without stock options.

Flipkart is hunting talents for summer placements

Well, this year Flipkart is expected to hire the larger number of talents from the campuses due to alleged funding from Walmart. The company also planned its summer internship in August at the campuses. Additionally, the company is making a debut at NIT Warangal, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), National Institute of Design, and Faculty of Management Studies Delhi for summer internships as the interest of students is leaning towards product development and in operational roles.

The companies hiring plan focuses on the need for resources and talents across the emerging areas of technologies like big data, machine learning, decision sciences and artificial intelligence. They are visiting to Madras, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Bombay, Guwahati, Roorkee, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and Hyderabad for engineering and business analytics profiles as per their planning to increase the hiring by 10 per cent.

Well, at IIM Calcutta, both Flipkart and Amazon are visiting for summer placements beginning from October. Last year, Flipkart made three offers at the campus while Amazon made approximately 18 including final and the pre-placement offers (PPOs). The race for talent has already been started and the recruiters are approaching India’s prestigious institutions for the organisation to grow and flourish worldwide.
