ParticipantI use LM1117 as the power output of 3.3V and 5.0V, but the heat is very severe, and the hand is very hot. What is the problem? The 1117 used on the development board that I bought does not cause serious heat problems.
Reading some related information including its specification and parameter about the LM1117 may help you answer my question more quickly.

ModeratorLM1117 is linear regulator with low drop. However the factors are input voltage and high current. The regulated voltage is output and the the difference of input and regulated voltage is dissipated in form of heat when multiplied with current. Please use heat sink or lower input voltage as per datasheet.

Participantcan you please share what is the input you are providing and how much current you are drawing at the load side….
