Infineon’s SECORA Connect X and SECORA Wallet brings secured contactless payment to smart wearables

Infineon Technologies AG has launched SECORA Connect X, a platform that enables manufacturers to add contactless payment capabilities to smart wearables such as smart rings, sports watches, and fitness trackers. The solution combines a Secure Element with software and tokenization services, allowing wearable devices to perform contactless transactions without relying on a smartphone or third-party wallet application.

The platform includes SECORA Connect X, SECORA Wallet, and SECORA Token Requestor, which are integrated with Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) and Visa Token Service (VTS). Together, these components support card digitization, payment token management, and the development of branded wallet applications. The platform is designed to simplify integration and certification processes, helping manufacturers bring payment-enabled wearable products to market.

At the hardware level, SECORA Connect X stores payment credentials on a Secure Element rather than in the cloud. The device supports contactless payments through Mastercard, Visa, and other Near Field Communication (NFC) applications. Its design allows integration into a range of wearable form factors while reducing power consumption and the number of external electronic components required.

The solution supports Java Card and GlobalPlatform standards and includes pre-certified applets and 1 MB of memory. This allows developers to build NFC and Bluetooth-based applications alongside payment functionality. Infineon’s white-label software development kit (SDK) enables manufacturers to integrate payment services into their own mobile applications while maintaining their brand identity. SECORA Wallet supports both iOS and Android devices.

Infineon has also introduced SECORA Token Requestor, which acts as a connection to Mastercard and Visa tokenization services. The system replaces Primary Account Numbers (PANs) with payment tokens and stores payment card information on the Secure Element. This enables contactless payments at compatible point-of-sale terminals worldwide while keeping card data protected.

Alongside the wearable-focused platform, Infineon offers SECORA Connect E for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headsets, laptops, tablets, gaming consoles, and PC accessories.
