Wide-Input DC-DC Converters

New isolated power modules combine an 8:1 input-voltage range with compact SIP8 packaging to enable reliable power conversion across industrial, transportation, and automation systems.

Wide-Input DC-DC Converters

Designing power architectures for industrial and transportation equipment often requires DC-DC converters capable of handling wide input voltage fluctuations without compromising efficiency or reliability. Addressing this need, Aimtec has expanded its portfolio with the AM1GU-LPZ Series SIP8 isolated DC-DC converters, featuring an 8:1 input voltage range that reduces the need for multiple converter variants across different system designs.

The AM1GU-LPZ family is designed for applications where supply voltages can vary significantly, including industrial automation, process control, railway electronics, telecom infrastructure, renewable energy equipment, battery-powered systems, and distributed power architectures. The wide operating input enables engineers to accommodate fluctuating or multiple bus voltages using a single converter platform, simplifying inventory management and power system qualification.

The key features are:

  • 1W isolated DC-DC converter family
  • Industry-standard SIP8 through-hole package
  • Up to 3000VDC input-to-output isolation
  • Fixed regulated single-output configuration
  • Suitable for PCB-mounted distributed power applications

Housed in an industry-standard SIP8 package, the converters provide reinforced isolation between the input and output stages while maintaining a compact footprint for space-constrained PCB layouts. The regulated output helps ensure stable operation of sensitive electronic circuits despite variations in the input supply, making the devices suitable for control electronics, communication interfaces, embedded processors, and sensor modules.

The converter series supports operation across a wide industrial temperature range, allowing deployment in demanding outdoor and factory environments. High isolation capability further improves system robustness by protecting downstream electronics from electrical disturbances and ground potential differences. These characteristics make the devices suitable for industrial control cabinets, distributed instrumentation, energy management systems, and transportation electronics where long-term operational reliability is essential.

By combining a broad input voltage range, regulated isolated outputs, and an industry-standard SIP8 footprint, the Aimtec AM1GU-LPZ Series enables designers to reduce component count while improving flexibility in power subsystem development. The family offers an effective solution for equipment manufacturers seeking simplified power designs capable of supporting multiple nominal input voltages with a single converter platform.
