An 80 GHz FMCW radar level meter expands precision level monitoring for liquids, slurries and bulk solids with long-range measurement, intelligent signal processing and remote configuration capabilities.

HIKMICRO LRG10 Series Radar Level Meter is designed to provide continuous and accurate level measurement across a wide range of industrial applications where conventional sensing technologies often struggle. Built around 80 GHz FMCW radar technology, the instrument measures liquids, slurries, and bulk solids with an accuracy of up to ±2 mm over distances of up to 120 m, making it suitable for both open and closed tanks, silos, reservoirs, and pipelines.
The radar level meter uses a narrow 3° beam angle to improve signal focus and minimise interference from vessel walls or internal structures. Combined with false echo suppression and intelligent interference shielding, the system delivers stable measurements even in challenging environments containing dust, steam, agitation, corrosion or volatile gases. These capabilities make it suitable for industries including water treatment, chemical processing, petrochemicals, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and bulk material handling.
The key features are:
- IP67-rated enclosure for industrial environments
- Supports 4–20 mA two-wire HART communication
- Available with flange, horn and threaded antenna options
- Compatible with stainless steel, PTFE, PP and PEEK wetted materials
- Operates on 12–36 V DC power supply (24 V DC nominal)
To simplify deployment across different process conditions, the LRG10 Series is available with multiple antenna and mounting configurations for metal and non-metal vessels. It supports process temperatures up to 250°C in high-temperature versions and process pressures up to 4 MPa, enabling use in demanding industrial environments.
The radar level meter also incorporates a self-learning algorithm that continuously adjusts operating parameters based on real-time process data to improve measurement reliability without frequent manual intervention. Bluetooth connectivity allows configuration through a mobile app, while host computer software enables remote commissioning and diagnostics, reducing installation time and maintenance effort.
Operating from a 24 V DC power supply with 4–20 mA HART communication, the LRG10 Series integrates into existing industrial automation systems while maintaining low power consumption and high operational stability. With its combination of long-range measurement, intelligent signal processing and flexible installation options, the radar level meter addresses continuous level monitoring requirements across storage, production and process control applications.
