UBTech, a robotics firm from China, has recently unveiled the UWORLD U1 Series. The company claims that this is the world’s first full-size ultra-bionic humanoid robots designed for mass production. It was officially released by the company in its 2026 Global Launch Event held in Shenzhen, integrating proprietary biomimetic skin, embodied AI hardware, an operating system, emotion-based LLMs, and system-level manufacturing.

The full-sized humanoid is equipped with 88 degrees of freedom (DOF) as well as a dual-pivot biomimetic cervical spine, giving it the ability to mimic more than 90 per cent of the basic human movements. UBTech claims that this is the first ever robot using emotion-aware LLMs for long-term companionship, which is able to identify more than 20 fine-grained emotional states with more than 90 per cent accuracy.

It features a fast-and-slow brain architecture that combines rapid intuitive response with deep reasoning. The technology provides a reaction time of roughly 500ms and coordinates the speech and mouth movements in less than 20 ms using its proprietary facial expression actuation system. It also has the Agent Memory OS technology for persistent long-term interactions, wake-word-free communication, and contextual responses.

According to UBTech, the architecture aims to address challenges associated with large-scale deployment of humanoid robots. In addition, the company adopted a three-tiered privacy framework consisting of local-first processing, minimal cloud reliance, and hardware-based user controls.

During the launch, UBTech revealed its three-step roadmap to human-robot collaboration, beginning with hazardous and repetitive tasks, moving to companionship and services, and ultimately seamless interaction between people and intelligent robots.

In addition to UWORLD, the company has launched the Human-Robot Companionship Project, which is expected to provide emotional and psychological support for vulnerable people in the long run. According to UBTech, the company expects to donate 100 customised U1 Series humanoid robots in 2026, with all the robots having 3D facial reconstruction and voiceprint-based identity replication technologies. Moreover, the robots will integrate emotion-driven interaction models, dedicated long-term memory systems and multimodal situational awareness.
