The power chips offer faster speed, smaller size, and better performance — made for smart TVs, laptops, home devices, EV chargers, and machines.

Magnachip Semiconductor Corporation has expanded its power semiconductor lineup with the launch of 25 new 6th-generation Super Junction (SJ) MOSFETs. The MOSFETs are designed for manufacturers and designers of high-efficiency electronic systems, including consumer electronics companies building AI TVs and smart appliances, industrial equipment makers developing power tools and motor drives, and developers of AI-powered laptop adapters and compact power supplies. These components are also suitable for smart home device manufacturers and EV charging solution providers who need compact, reliable, and high-performance switching devices. With their improved speed, reduced size, and enhanced reliability, these MOSFETs cater to a wide range of users focused on delivering advanced, energy-efficient products.
These Gen6 SJ MOSFETs offer around 23% faster switching speeds and reduce RSP (Resistance-Switching Performance) by roughly 40% compared to the previous generation. This results in a 40% improvement in the overall Figure of Merit. To improve reliability, each device includes a built-in Zener diode between the gate and source, protecting against electrostatic discharge (ESD). The chip sizes are also about 30% smaller than those of the previous models.
“With the successful launch of 25 new Gen6 SJ MOSFETs integrating Magnachip’s latest technology, we have further strengthened our product lineup to meet our customers’ evolving technical requirements,” said YJ Kim, CEO of Magnachip. “By delivering optimal power solutions for the AI, industrial applications and smart home appliances, we aim to contribute to the growth and success of our customers in these sectors, and further advance our technology and market leadership as we transition to a pure-play Power company.”
The products support voltage ratings of 600V, 650V, and 700V, and come in seven package types, including TO220, TO220FT, SOT223, PDFN88, D2PAK, DPAK, and TO220F.
