A new stereo smart amplifier combines nonlinear speaker control with adaptive DSP to reduce distortion, improve echo cancellation, and deliver higher audio output for AI-enabled communication and automotive systems.

Nuvoton Technology has introduced the NAU83G60YG stereo smart amplifier, integrating Klippel Controlled Sound (KCS) nonlinear adaptive speaker control technology to improve audio quality, speaker protection, and voice communication performance. Designed for conference speakerphones, smart speakers, professional monitors, and automotive smart cockpit systems, the amplifier combines low-distortion audio with ultra-low-latency processing to meet the demands of next-generation AI-enabled audio devices.
The key features are:
- Operates from 8V to 24V supply
- Industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C
- Integrated current and voltage sensing (IV Sense) ADCs
- Supports I²S, PCM, and TDM digital audio interfaces
- Delivers up to 2 × 30W into 4Ω loads
Unlike conventional smart amplifiers that rely on linear speaker models, the NAU83G60YG employs adaptive nonlinear control to actively compensate for speaker distortion and changing operating conditions. The technology enhances bass response, increases sound pressure levels, and maintains operational stability while continuously protecting the speaker against mechanical and thermal overloads. Automatic system alignment and voice-coil position control further improve consistency across different speaker designs.
For voice-centric applications, the amplifier offers notable improvements in Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) by generating a more linear reference signal for echo-cancellation algorithms. This enables faster convergence with fewer audio artifacts, resulting in clearer bidirectional communication during conferencing and voice interactions. The low-latency processing architecture also supports Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), while reduced distortion enhances wake-word recognition accuracy in AI-powered smart speakers.
The amplifier integrates a high-performance Class-D architecture with an onboard DSP engine supporting multiband parametric equalization (PEQ), dynamic range compression (DRC), and advanced audio processing. Combined with built-in current and voltage sensing, the device enables precise real-time monitoring and speaker diagnostics while simplifying tuning and system optimization.
Target applications include conferencing systems, compact multimedia speakers, studio monitors, automotive infotainment, and AI-enabled smart speakers where high acoustic output, low distortion, and reliable voice interaction are essential. Evaluation boards for the NAU83G60YG are now available through Nuvoton’s global sales network and authorized distribution channels, enabling developers to evaluate the amplifier in new audio designs.
