Bright IPS panels, integrated graphics control, multiple interfaces, and a visual development environment enable these compact HMIs to handle monitoring, control, and medical applications without an external controller.

The uniTFTm series from DISPLAY VISIONS combines an IPS display, graphics controller, touch interface, and connectivity into a ready-to-run human-machine interface (HMI), allowing designers to build standalone monitoring and control systems without adding a separate display controller.
The series uses high-brightness IPS panels rated above 1,000 cd/m², providing wide viewing angles and maintaining contrast and readability under bright ambient lighting. Projected capacitive (PCAP) touch enables multi-finger gestures through a durable glass surface that can be wiped clean, making the modules suitable for industrial equipment and other interfaces requiring frequent operation.
The key features are:
- Eight configurable digital I/O lines, expandable to 136
- Four analogue inputs for measurement and control signals
- PCAP glass supports multi-finger gesture input
- Integrated time base enables timestamped events
- Starter kits support air-quality, voltmeter, and relay projects
An integrated graphics controller supports movable graphical objects, fade and zoom effects, scalable Windows character sets, and automatic switching between ASCII and Unicode. This enables interfaces containing multilingual text, including Chinese characters. JPEG, transparent PNG, and SVG graphics can also be incorporated, while stylesheets help maintain a consistent interface design.
The displays are supported by the free uniTFTDesigner software, a Windows-based WYSIWYG development environment intended to reduce the programming effort required for HMI development. It includes a simulator, debugger, instrument and clock editor, and terminal. The integrated time base can also be used to document events with timestamps or execute processes autonomously.
Connectivity includes USB-C, SPI, I²C, and RS-232. The modules also provide eight digital inputs/outputs, expandable to 136, alongside four analogue inputs for acquiring measurement signals and controlling external functions.
The uniTFTm family is available in 1.5-, 2-, 2.8-, 3.5-, and 4.3-inch SMART HMI versions, while 5-, 7-, and 10.1-inch variants target higher-end HMI applications. Potential applications include industrial monitoring and control, instrumentation, medical equipment, air-quality monitors, voltmeters, and relay-control systems. The manufacturer also provides application-specific starter sets intended to accelerate development and evaluation.
