Engineers working in RF and microwave design, telecommunications, aerospace and defense systems, and test and measurement labs can use Amphenol RF’s 2.92 mm solderless connectors. They can use these connectors to quickly build, test, and validate high-frequency PCB designs, evaluate signal integrity across different layouts, and speed up prototyping cycles. The reusable design also helps teams swap boards easily during iterative development of mmWave and broadband systems without permanent soldering.

Amphenol RF has introduced 2.92 mm connectors designed for high-frequency applications that require stable signal integrity and consistent mechanical performance. These vertical PCB jacks are available in stripline and microstrip configurations and eliminate variability caused by solder joints. The solderless 2.92 mm connectors provide a secure PCB connection for microwave and millimeter-wave systems, RF prototyping environments, and advanced validation setups.

The connectors use a threaded interface to ensure consistent contact between the connector and PCB. This approach avoids inconsistencies linked to soldering, reflow processes, and manual assembly. By removing solder from the connection path, the design improves repeatability in measurement and testing workflows. Supporting broadband performance up to 40 GHz, the connectors maintain impedance control across different PCB stack-ups, which is critical for high-frequency signal accuracy.

The mechanical structure is built from passivated stainless steel, with gold-plated beryllium copper contacts and ULTEM insulators. This combination provides durability, stable electrical performance, and resistance to wear during repeated use in lab and development environments. The connectors can be installed and removed multiple times, making them suitable for early-stage design validation and performance tuning.

These solderless 2.92 mm PCB connectors expand Amphenol RF’s portfolio of high-frequency interconnect solutions for modern communication systems, aerospace and defense applications, laboratory development setups, and next-generation mmWave technologies.
