Job Description
- Engineer will be directly responsible for Power Plant controls engineering for renewable energy specially for Hydro Power Plants
- Engage in understanding the engineering drawings to prepare and study technical data, Specification requirements for Hydro power plants
- Engage in Controls application engineering and testing phases of renewable energy specially for Hydro PP Engineering
- Knowledge and experience with IEC-61131 programming, testing, and commissioning
- Engage in Customer Demos/FAT/DRM and commissioning activities.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
- Perform detailed engineering activities to deliver results as per customer requirements.
- Design & Implementation of control scheme for Renewable Power like Solar or Hydro Power Plants
- Process simulation & testing
- Conduct KOM, Design Review Meeting, FAT & SAT
- Travel for FAT & SAT
- Configure third party interfaces like OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus, IEC61850 etc.
- Working knowledge of industrial standards like IEEE, IEC, NEC, and Grid codes
- Compliance with internal and external customer safety and security requirements
- Adherence to quality management systems & guidelines
- Working with contractors / sub-contractors
- Fostering smooth collaboration and communication with project stake holders (internal project teams, customer project teams and onsite contractors)
Required Skills
- B. Tech / B.E (ECE, EEE, I&C, E&I)
- Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience in Renewables like Solar, BESS, Hybrid, or Hydro Power Plants) project engineering and commissioning
- Experience of industrial communication protocols like Modbus, IEC61850, OPC, DNP3 etc.
- Proficiency with ISA and SAMA logic symbols, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical SLD’s
- Experience in designing and implementing control schemes for Hydro Power Plants
- Proficiency with one or more control system platforms (e.g., Emerson Ovation, ABB Pro Control / Bailey INFI 90, Siemens T3000 / TXP, Siemens S7 etc.) will be an added advantage
- Networking knowledge will be an added advantage
- Troubleshooting, priority setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
- Excellent language and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Respond to queries, RFI’s in a timely manner
- Ability to interact with and guide vendors & Sub-contractors
- Strong documentation skills
