TDK Corporation has announced the expansion of its MUQ0201022HA series of high-frequency inductors. Measuring just 0.25 x 0.125 x 0.2 mm (L x W x T), these 0201-size components are the smallest in the industry with comparable electrical performance to TDK’s larger MHQ0402PSA series. The expanded lineup offers inductance values ranging from 0.6 nH to 3.6 nH.

The series is designed primarily for impedance matching in high-frequency front-end modules used in mobile devices. It is also well-suited for use in wearable devices, where space constraints and performance demands are particularly high.

As mobile and wearable devices continue to evolve toward greater miniaturization and higher performance, the demand for compact, high-functionality components is growing. Leveraging proprietary patterning and sintering technologies, TDK has developed inductors that deliver equal or superior high-frequency performance while reducing the mounting footprint by approximately 50%. TDK plans to further broaden this product line to support diverse customer requirements.

Some of the key features of the MHQ0402PSA series include:

  • Smallest size in the industry (0.25 x 0.125 x 0.2 mm)
  • Same performance as larger 0402-size inductors
  • Saves about 50% of mounting space
  • Works well in smartphones and wearables
  • Inductance range from 0.6 nH to 3.6 nH
  • Made with TDK’s advanced patterning and sintering tech

These inductors deliver high-frequency performance equivalent to or better than larger existing products, thanks to TDK’s proprietary patterning and sintering technologies. Despite their significantly smaller size, they maintain the same electrical characteristics while reducing the required mounting area to approximately half that of a 0402-size inductor.
