With a low‑profile straight jack designed for automated SMT reflow and rugged RF performance, now secure 50-ohm board-level connectivity.

Amphenol RF has enlarged its SMB connector range with the introduction of a low-profile, straight surface-mount SMB jack, engineered for automated SMT reflow processes. Designed for 50-ohm board-level applications, it delivers consistent RF performance up to 4 gigahertz, making it suitable for radar, broadband networks, control systems, and other mission-critical environments.
It specifically target sectors such as industrial automation, avionics, military electronics, instrumentation, and test and measurement. The connector offers high signal integrity and reliability in extreme conditions. Its compact and rugged form factor allows efficient use of printed circuit board (PCB) space while meeting stringent operational demands.
The jack features four gold-plated ground tabs that ensure superior coplanarity and support automated pick-and-place assembly, enabling streamlined production cycles and reduced labor costs. Engineered for durability, it operates within a wide temperature range from -65°C to +165°C and maintains a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of ≤ 1.20 for stable signal transmission.
Low insertion loss helps maintain optimal signal quality over extended distances, while robust mechanical stability ensures reliable performance under vibration, shock, and frequent thermal cycling. This makes it an ideal choice for harsh industrial and defense environments.
Built with a gold-plated brass coupling sleeve and center contact, along with a natural PTFE insulator, the jack provides corrosion resistance and mechanical longevity for at least 500 mating cycles. Its drop-in footprint further simplifies integration into industrial control modules and other high-reliability systems.
With this addition, Amphenol RF strengthens its portfolio of off-the-shelf RF interconnect solutions, delivering a product that combines precision, durability, and ease of integration for demanding applications.
