New battery lifecycle management solution can bridges data, compliance, and circular economy goals.

Tata Technologies has introduced WATTSync, a secure and scalable digital battery passport, designed to enhance transparency, sustainability, and compliance across the battery lifecycle, from mining to recycling.
The solution can enable other equipment manufacturers (OEMs), battery manufacturers, and recyclers to track and manage battery data efficiently. The product affirms resilience and innovation in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle (EV) and industrial battery markets. By integrating digital verification, AI monitoring, role-based access, and automated reporting, it automates compliance reporting and ensures secure collaboration among suppliers, auditors, and regulators. It is made in alignment with current and emerging regulatory frameworks, including the EU’s mandatory digital battery passport, effective from February 2027.
Key capabilities include capturing and validating battery data from mining to end-of-life, providing a live, shared view of materials, performance, carbon footprint, and their recovery status. Benefits for users are extensive; OEMs can gain insights to optimise design and improve second-life and recycling outcomes, battery manufacturers and recyclers can achieve faster, audit-ready data, and all stakeholders can expect reduced risks through verified sourcing and tamper-evident data.
