Quectel Wireless Solutions’ KCMCA6S series of sub-GHz Wireless M-Bus (WM-Bus) modules helps developers quickly add reliable, secure, and low-power connectivity to smart metering and IoT devices. The modules support multiple WM-Bus modes (T, C, S, R, N, F), flexible frequency configurations, and dynamic multi-mode switching, making them ideal for applications in water, electricity, gas, heat, and other IoT scenarios. Their compact design and integrated software stack reduce the need for third-party protocol integration, saving time and cost in product development.

The KCMCA6S series operates across 868MHz, 169MHz, and 433MHz bands and complies with the EN13757-4 standard, ensuring seamless integration into advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems. The modules feature a low-power architecture with built-in multi-layer security, supporting long-term, reliable operation in both standard and space-constrained devices.

Available in two variants, the KCMCA6S includes a Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) filter to reduce interference from cellular communications, which is useful for devices combining WM-Bus with NB-IoT or Cat-1, while the KCMCA6S-N provides the same capabilities without the SAW filter.

Designed for compact installations, the modules come in an LCC form factor measuring 25.4mm × 14.0mm × 2.9mm and operate in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. Each module integrates an ARM Cortex-M33 processor running up to 78MHz, 32KB of RAM, and 256KB of Flash memory, offering a complete all-in-one solution for reliable sub-GHz wireless connectivity.
