Fast Testing For AI Data Links

What if testing 200 Gb/s AI data links could take minutes instead of hours and still keep signal performance? Find out more!

As data centers and AI systems grow more complex, engineers are under pressure to validate ultra-high-speed interconnects quickly and accurately. Manual transmitter testing for Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink) devices running at 200 Gb/s often takes hours and can slow development, delay deployment, and risk signal integrity issues.

Keysight Technologies has introduced the UALink 1.0 transmitter test solution to solve this problem. It is a dedicated compliance test tool for UALink devices that automates critical electrical measurements and ensures signal integrity and standard conformance at 200 Gb/s link speeds.

The test application enables high-speed validation within advanced computing and AI interconnect systems, streamlining transmitter compliance testing through automation. Tasks that typically take hours of manual setup and measurement can now be completed in minutes using a Keysight UXR Real-Time Oscilloscope and the new UALink 1.0 transmitter application.

The UALink 1.0 test solution sets a new standard in data center interconnect testing by performing complete and critical 200 Gb/s PAM4 transmitter tests in minutes instead of hours. It streamlines and accelerates high-speed transmitter validation for UALink devices and automates complex test procedures across UALink, backplane Ethernet, and cable Ethernet channels.

By cutting down on manual testing and automating compliance procedures, the company claims that the solution helps engineers save time, reduce human error, and confidently validate next-generation data center and AI interconnect systems.

Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight Technologies, said: “The introduction of UALink marks a transformative leap in AI infrastructure and directly addresses the lack of an open, industry-standard, high-bandwidth low-latency interconnect for scaling AI accelerators within data centers.  By providing tools for validating UALink transmitters, Keysight is helping the industry accelerate the introduction of products based on the open UALink standard.”
