The Indian electronics market is growing at a high rate and TAIYO YUDEN is taking advantage of this opportunity as the population of India is high and the government is working towards making India an electronics hub in the world. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality support, domestic technical support, and a responsive supply chain. The Japanese supplier believes that India is one of its strategic markets and has opened its first sales office in Bangalore in April 2025. They will develop a strong local support network in India, which will provide high-quality support and personalized customer service.
TAIYO YUDEN exhibited the following products in the Electronica/Productronica Expo, which was conducted in Bangalore:
- Their primary product line is the Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors, the smallest and thinnest capacitor in the world. These capacitors are smaller than one millimetre and they are so minute but they play a huge role in today’s electronics.
- One package may have more than one million pieces. MSC capacitors find extensive application in mobile phones, camera modules, and integrated circuits, where space is limited.
- Their polymer hybrid capacitors, which are polymer and aluminum, are targeted at high-end markets like motor control, automotive headlamps, and industrial power supplies. These capacitors offer low leakage current, high ripple current, and can withstand temperatures of up to 150 °C. Additionally, soft termination capacitors are crack-proof and can withstand mechanical vibrations and electrical stress, making them highly reliable on PCBs.
- Miniaturisation is also pushed to the extreme by the power inductors of TAIYO YUDEN. The company has the smallest metal multi-layer inductors in the world with a minimum case size of 1005(mm) and they also offer larger case sizes that support higher currents. Some uses of these inductors are motors, DC-DC converters, automotive lighting, engine control units, and instrument clusters.
- The RF devices that the company provides include FBAR and SAW filters, LTCC devices, and chip antennas that are applied in GPS, GNSS, Wi-Fi, and BLE modules. These devices are not only capable of working with a large frequency range, but they also contribute to the minimization of electromagnetic noise, which guarantees signal integrity in the most demanding applications.
- TAIYO YUDEN has also entered into new technologies, where it has developed piezoelectric actuators and speakers. Tactile feedback in instrument cluster displays of smartphones and automobiles is provided by actuators, and high-purity sound is provided by ultra-thin piezoelectric speakers (150 mm) in a small form factor, which are used in high-end audio.
- The company provides electric bicycle motors and battery systems in the electric mobility space. These systems utilise the concepts of continuous pedaling, regenerative braking, and downhill energy recovery to achieve an impressive range of up to 1,000 kilometres per charge.
