Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of laptop spare parts to identify physical damage, corrosion, connector issues, broken traces, and burnt components.
- Conduct functional testing of parts, including displays, keyboards, batteries, charging ports, USBs, and audio jacks.
- Inspect motherboards for soldering issues, lifted pads, and cracked or missing components using a microscope and other tools.
- Verify motherboard integrity at the component and signal level using schematics and board-view software.
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter, DC power supply, oscilloscope, thermal camera) to validate:
- Power rail functionality and stability
- Voltage levels at key test points
- Thermal performance and overheating signs
- Ensure parts meet predefined quality and operational standards before installation or reuse.
- Maintain inspection logs, tagging, and detailed reporting for each part tested.
- Collaborate with repair and engineering teams to isolate recurring quality issues and support root cause analysis (RCA).
- Ensure adherence to ESD safety procedures and quality management protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in laptop hardware inspection, repair, or QA/QC functions.
- Proficient in identifying component-level faults, solder joint quality, and PCB damage.
- Good understanding of motherboard architecture, signal routing, and voltage sequencing.
- Experience using test and measurement equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, LCR meter, and thermal scanner.
- Familiarity with board view tools (e.g., OpenBoardView) and ability to trace signal paths.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of OEM standards and refurbishment quality guidelines.
- Basic rework skills to handle minor component corrections.
- Familiarity with top laptop brands.
