Amara Raja Design Alpha, has developed an indigenous Power Conditioning Cabinet for naval sonar systems, marking its entry into mission critical defence electronics. Engineered to deliver stable, high quality power, the system addresses a fundamental requirement in sonar operations where detection accuracy depends on uninterrupted and noise free power supply.

For naval platforms, this translates directly into improved reliability. Sonar systems operating in underwater surveillance and anti submarine missions rely on consistent power to maintain precision over long durations. By ensuring stable output even in demanding maritime conditions, the cabinet helps minimise signal distortion and supports sustained operational performance.

The advantage becomes more pronounced at scale. Built to handle loads of up to 160 kW, the system meets stringent defence standards including MIL STD 901D for shock resistance and MIL STD 461 for electromagnetic compatibility. This ensures durability in harsh environments while maintaining electromagnetic stability critical for sensitive detection systems. With around 61 percent of its components sourced domestically, the solution also strengthens supply chain resilience and is expected to reduce overall system costs by nearly 40 percent.

At a design level, the cabinet integrates advanced power engineering with localised manufacturing, enabling a robust architecture suited for seamless deployment across sonar platforms within the Indian Navy.
