LAPP has introduced its ÖLFLEX ROBOT cable range, developed to support automated dynamic 3D movements in robotics and industrial automation. Designed for demanding applications, the flexible PVC cable range is engineered to withstand continuous bending, twisting and torsion while maintaining reliable electrical performance in automated environments.
The range is intended for robotic systems, handling equipment and other motion-intensive machinery where cables are subjected to constant mechanical stress. According to the company, the 909 and 909 D variants can withstand up to 2 million bending and torsion cycles, helping extend service life in demanding production environments.
For installations exposed to high levels of electromagnetic interference, the shielded 928 D and 909 D versions provide enhanced protection to ensure dependable signal transmission. This makes the cables suitable for industrial settings where electrical noise could otherwise affect system performance.
One example from the range is the ÖLFLEX ROBOT 900 DP, which features an outer diameter of 6.7 mm, a weight of 69 kg/km, and a copper index of 42.5 kg/km. The cable has a maximum conductor resistance of 138 Ω/km at 20°C, supporting reliable power and signal transmission for automation applications.
The new cable family is aimed at manufacturers seeking durable connectivity solutions for robotic arms, automated production lines and other equipment requiring continuous multidirectional movement. By combining high mechanical endurance with shielding options for electrically noisy environments, the range addresses the growing demand for reliable cabling in advanced automation systems.
