Power electronics engineers often face delays and errors due to the tedious process of selecting semiconductor devices. The physics-based platform AR Power aims to make the process easier.
AR Power is a Bengaluru-based early-stage startup, founded in 2025. The company is working on an important problem in power electronics. It aims to help engineers choose the right power semiconductor device faster. Currently, this process can take a long time because engineers have to go through datasheets, perform manual calculations, and run multiple simulations. AR Power claims to reduce this process to just a few minutes through its web-based platform.
The idea came from the founder’s own experience as a power electronics engineer. He saw that most tools on the market help with testing designs but not with selecting the most suitable components. Engineers often rely on past experience or limited data, which can lead to incorrect decisions, higher costs, or over-engineering. AR Power was built to address this gap by providing clear, data-driven recommendations.
This is mainly a tech innovation. The platform uses physics-based models along with machine learning to compare thousands of semiconductor devices and rank them. Right now, it has around 5000 devices from companies such as AlphaOmega, Sagar Semiconductors, and onsemi. The system is about 95-96% accurate, as tested with hardware support from industry players.

One big challenge in building the product was turning complex calculations into a simple web interface. The first version began as a basic project before the front end was improved with support from web developers, while the core engine was built in-house. The focus has been on keeping the platform easy to use, even though the back end is highly complex.
The team is small. It is a solo-founder startup with around four core contributors, including people working on machine learning, thermal design, and web development. The founder is currently handling product, support, and even sales to stay close to user feedback.
In terms of business model, AR Power plans to earn through subscriptions, where advanced features (Smart Mode) will be paid. Right now, the platform is free because it has just launched, and the focus is on acquiring users and gathering feedback, not revenue.
The biggest challenge at this stage is building trust. Some engineers believe such tools could replace jobs, but the company says they are designed to assist engineers and save time, not to replace them. Another challenge is limited resources, particularly recruiting talent and scaling the team.
Looking ahead, AR Power wants to grow into a full design platform, not just for semiconductors but for complete power electronics systems. It also plans to work with colleges by giving free access to students to increase early adoption. The company is open to partnerships with industry players and is also looking to raise funds to scale faster.
AR Power is trying to make a slow, manual engineering process faster and smarter, and if it scales well, it could become a go-to tool for engineers in this space.
