The Hardware Lead — Edge Systems is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. This position is responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of hardware platforms for edge computing systems, including schematic design, PCB layout review, component selection, and integration with firmware and software. Day-to-day activities include defining hardware architecture, coordinating with cross-functional teams, supervising prototyping and testing, and resolving hardware issues from concept through production. The Hardware Lead will create and maintain documentation, support design reviews, guide junior engineers, and collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure quality and reliability. The role also involves evaluating new technologies, optimising system performance, and contributing to long-term product roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Strong background in hardware design for embedded or edge systems, including experience with microcontrollers, processors, and related interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools, as well as reviewing layouts for signal integrity, power distribution, and manufacturability.
- Proficiency in hardware testing and validation, including use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power analysers) and debugging complex hardware issues.
- Understanding of system-level design considerations such as thermal management, EMI/EMC, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Experience collaborating with firmware and software teams to define interfaces, bring up boards, and optimise system performance.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, manage timelines, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience in edge computing, IoT devices, or product development from prototype to production is highly beneficial.
