A new high-power AC-DC supply combines high power density, programmable output, wide input operation, and industrial-grade protection for demanding equipment.

A new 2400W AC-DC power supply by Meanwell is designed to deliver high power from a compact enclosed form factor, targeting equipment where limited installation space and demanding transient loads make conventional power supplies difficult to use. The NSP-2400 Series provides a rated output of 2400W and is designed for applications including industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, medical systems, laser processing, test and measurement, communications infrastructure, and renewable-energy equipment.
The key features are:
- 55% smaller than the previous-generation RSP-2400
- Up to 5000m operating altitude
- <500µA ultra-low leakage current
- PCB conformal coating for durability
- Built-in cooling fan with < 46 dB noise
The power supply accepts an 85–305Vac input range, including operation at 277Vac, allowing it to accommodate a broad range of AC systems. A key feature is its ability to deliver up to 200% of rated power during peak conditions. This capability is intended for equipment with high transient power requirements, such as motors, pumps, capacitive loads, and other systems that can demand substantially more power during startup or short-duration events.
The NSP-2400 also provides programmable output control. Its output voltage can be adjusted from 0% to 120%, while output current can be configured from 0% to 100%. Built-in PV/PC functions support this flexibility, allowing system designers to configure the power supply according to the requirements of different loads. CANBus communication is integrated, with Modbus available as an option for system-level control and monitoring.
Compared with the earlier RSP-2400, the NSP-2400 reduces its size by 55%, increasing power density for equipment where enclosure space is constrained. The supply operates across a -40°C to +85°C temperature range, with full-load operation available up to +60°C for the 24V to 60V versions. A built-in low-noise fan produces less than 46dB of cooling noise.
For safety and reliability, the NSP-2400 incorporates short-circuit, overload, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection. It supports multiple industry safety standards, SEMI F47 voltage-sag immunity, OVC III, and operation at altitudes up to 5000m. Its leakage current is below 500µA, supporting 2 × MOPP requirements and BF-type medical applications. PCB conformal coating adds protection against environmental conditions, while the product is backed by a five-year warranty.
