Industrial edge systems increasingly need to process data locally while operating reliably in environments where space, thermal management, and maintenance can be challenging. The SBC35-474, a 3.5-inch rugged single-board computer from WINSYSTEMS, addresses these requirements with scalable Intel Atom x7000RE Series processors, extensive I/O, expansion options, and a fanless design. The platform is intended for industrial automation, transportation, communications, energy management, and other embedded applications where long service life is important.
The SBC35-474 can be configured with the Intel Atom x7211RE, x7433RE, or x7835RE processors, allowing systems to scale from dual-core to eight-core computing. Processor frequencies reach up to 3.6 GHz, while integrated Intel UHD Graphics with 16 execution units supports graphics-intensive workloads. The board also incorporates AI-acceleration capabilities, making it suitable for intelligent edge applications that require local data processing.

Designed for deployment beyond controlled office environments, the board supports an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Its fanless architecture eliminates a mechanical cooling component, helping improve reliability in embedded systems. Three M.2 sockets provide flexibility for adding wireless connectivity, storage, AI accelerators, and other application-specific peripherals.
For industrial networking and visualization, the SBC35-474 provides dual 2.5GbE ports and supports up to three displays. DDR5 memory support provides the bandwidth needed for demanding edge workloads, while TPM 2.0 hardware security helps protect systems deployed in connected industrial environments. The platform supports both Windows 11 IoT and Ubuntu Linux, giving developers flexibility when selecting an operating environment.
The board can be used in machine control, machine vision, remote monitoring, communications gateways, test and measurement equipment, transportation systems, security systems, energy-management platforms, and smart infrastructure. Its COTS design can also help OEMs reduce development effort and accelerate deployment.
