A small fanless computer helps factories connect machines, collect data, process information, and control automation tasks at the edge.

Advantech has introduced the UNO-2484V3, a fanless edge automation computer for industrial applications that need local computing, machine connectivity, and data processing. It uses Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, DDR5 memory, and a range of industrial interfaces in a compact design.
The system is designed for applications such as machine automation, machine vision, equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and industrial data collection. It can connect machines, sensors, programmable logic controllers, and other plant equipment while processing data locally.
The fanless edge automation computer supports Intel Core Ultra Series 2 5 and 7 processors with up to 14 CPU cores and 12 MB of L3 cache. It has two DDR5-6400 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64 GB of memory. Compared with the previous UNO-2484G V2, which used 11th Gen Intel Core processors and DDR4 memory, the new system provides higher processing and memory performance for data-intensive edge workloads.
The platform has four M.2 slots, including one B-key, one E-key, and two M-key slots, along with a nano SIM card slot. An optional second stack can add two swappable 2.5-inch SSDs and Advantech iDoor modules. These options allow users to add wireless connectivity, fieldbus communication, or additional storage based on their application.
In a factory, the UNO-2484V3 can act as a central computer for machine control, data collection, HMI functions, communication, and equipment monitoring. Its Ethernet and serial ports can connect to PLCs, sensors, and older industrial equipment. The system can then collect and process equipment data locally and share it with other plant systems.
The computer also includes TPM 2.0 for platform security. Its fanless design removes the need for a cooling fan, while an updated heatsink helps with heat management. A removable DIMM cover makes memory upgrades easier, and the externally accessible SIM slot and removable antenna mount simplify field installation and maintenance.
