A 3D medical display combines 4K resolution, low crosstalk, viewing angles, and multiple interfaces for surgery, endoscopy, microscopy, and training.

Advantech has introduced the PAX-332 3D Medical Display for minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted procedures, endoscopy, microscopy, and medical training. The display combines 4K UHD resolution with stereoscopic 3D imaging to give surgeons and trainees a clearer view of medical images with depth perception.
The display uses polarised 3D technology and has a viewing angle of ±10 degrees. This allows people positioned at different points around an operating table to view 3D images without losing the stereoscopic effect. This can be useful in operating rooms where displays are mounted on surgical booms and viewed by multiple members of the surgical team.
The PAX-332 has a crosstalk rate of less than 3%, which helps reduce ghosting between the left- and right-eye images. It also uses flicker-free technology to reduce visual strain during extended viewing. The 4K resolution provides detailed images for applications such as endoscopy, microscopy, robotic-assisted surgery, and other minimally invasive procedures.
The display is designed to connect with different equipment used in operating rooms. Its interfaces include HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, dual 12G-SDI, and SDVoE. It also supports DICOM presets. These connections allow it to receive images from surgical imaging systems, navigation platforms, PACS systems, and robotic surgery equipment.
Beyond surgery, the display can be used for medical education and simulation. Trainees can view stereoscopic medical images with depth information, providing a more realistic representation of procedures and anatomy than a conventional 2D display.
For use in clinical environments, the PAX-332 complies with IEC/EN 60601-1 and IEC/EN 60601-1-2 standards covering medical equipment safety and electromagnetic compatibility. Its front panel has an IP65 rating, allowing it to withstand routine cleaning and disinfection.
The company says that the display is manufactured using RoHS-compliant, lead-free processes, with measures focused on energy use, waste reduction, and recyclability. The company also says each unit undergoes material inspection and functional testing before shipment, supported by its quality-management processes and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
