Small Fanless Computer for Edge AI

A small fanless computer offers 39 TOPS AI performance, 8K display support, and flexible connectivity for edge applications.

IBASE Technology has introduced the AA400-N, a compact fanless edge AI computer for system integrators developing machine vision, robotic vision, autonomous inspection, smart retail, industrial automation, and other data-intensive applications.

The system is powered by AMD Ryzen Embedded 8000 Series processors with up to 8 cores and 16 threads. It combines CPU, GPU, and NPU processing to deliver up to 39 TOPS of AI performance, allowing AI workloads to be processed at the edge.

The edge AI computer supports dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory with up to 256GB capacity. For visual applications, it provides DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 interfaces, supporting resolutions of up to 8K. Its AMD RDNA 3 graphics also support edge applications that require high-resolution display and graphics processing.

The platform provides several expansion options for different system requirements. An M.2 B-Key slot can be used for optional 5G or LTE connectivity, while an M.2 E-Key slot supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or capture cards. PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe storage is also supported.

For wired and peripheral connectivity, the system includes 2.5GbE LAN, multiple USB ports, a COM port, and a Nano SIM socket. These interfaces allow integrators to connect networking equipment, sensors, storage, and other peripherals used in edge systems.

Measuring 216 × 178 × 55 mm, the AA400-N is designed for installations where space is limited. Its fanless design eliminates the need for a cooling fan, while DIN-rail and wall-mount options provide flexibility when integrating the computer into industrial equipment and enclosures.

The company claims that the product also supports Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22.04, allowing developers and system integrators to use it across different application environments. Its combination of AI processing, memory capacity, display interfaces, expansion slots, and mounting options provides a platform for building edge AI systems around specific application requirements.
