The Carbon AM67 is based on Texas Instruments’ AM67x processor family and combines heterogeneous processing with AI acceleration and wireless connectivity. It uses Ezurio’s Sona TI351 wireless module, which integrates Texas Instruments’ CC3351 companion IC for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity.

The SOM integrates a power-management IC, LPDDR4 memory, and eMMC storage in a 45 × 30 mm package based on the OSM-MF v1.2 standard. The design is intended to give developers a scalable computing platform while reducing the need for major hardware changes across product generations.

For software support, the Carbon AM67 works with Ezurio’s EZ BSP (Board Support Package). It is based on open-source Yocto and Buildroot environments and includes security features covering the product lifecycle.

The security framework includes secure boot, secure signing, and long-term security updates. Ezurio says the approach provides a chain of trust from product development and manufacturing through deployment in the field, while avoiding dependence on a proprietary software stack.

The Carbon AM67 delivers this performance through a combination of advanced hardware and software capabilities:

  • Supports up to 3 displays at 3840 × 1080.
  • Supports 4K video at 60 fps.
  • Supports up to 4 camera inputs.
  • Includes 4 TOPS AI processing.
  • Has 4 Cortex-A53 and 3 Cortex-R5F cores.
  • Supports Linux, Buildroot, and FreeRTOS.
  • Includes secure boot and file storage.
  • Available with 4 GB or 8 GB LPDDR4.
  • Supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE.
  • Available for 0°C to +70°C or –40°C to +85°C operation.

“The Carbon AM67 represents leading-edge computing performance, bringing tablet-class GPU power, on-device AI acceleration, and an advanced vision pipeline into the compact, proven OSM-MF form factor,” says Dan Kephart, Sr. Product Manager at Ezurio. “With up to 4 TOPS of deep learning performance, triple-display capability, and robust industrial interfaces, this platform empowers OEMs to tackle the most demanding HMI, machine vision, and edge AI applications while maintaining long-term reliability, security, and support.”
