Can a security camera follow human movement, cover a wider area and support remote monitoring? A new Wi-Fi model combines these functions for connected spaces.

PRAMA’s iDADA brand has launched the Q2i 3MP Wi-Fi Smart Security Camera for homes, offices, retail spaces and small office or home office (SOHO) environments. The camera combines wide-area monitoring, human auto-tracking and remote access, offering installers and users an option for spaces that need flexible video surveillance without extensive cabling.
For security installers and system integrators, the camera’s wireless connectivity and remote management features may simplify deployment in smaller premises where extensive cabling is impractical. However, performance will depend on Wi-Fi coverage, camera placement and the local storage configuration.
Its pan-and-tilt mechanism supports 350-degree rotation, helping cover a wider area than a fixed-position camera. AI-based human tracking allows the camera to follow detected movement automatically, reducing the need for manual adjustment. Motion and sound detection can alert users to activity, while infrared night vision supports monitoring in low-light conditions.
The camera captures 3MP images and includes a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication. This allows users to speak with people near the device through the mobile app. A lens shutter provides a privacy mode when monitoring is not required, addressing a key consideration for cameras installed inside homes and offices.
The device also supports local storage of up to 512GB, allowing users to save recordings directly on the camera. This provides an alternative to relying entirely on cloud-based recording, although the actual recording duration will depend on settings and usage.
The Q2i is part of a wider portfolio of indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi security cameras. The range is being rolled out across India through authorised retail networks and system integrators.
