Can operators connect displays to programmable logic controllers without complex setup? A series of touch-screen HMIs aims to support multiple connection options.

DISPLAY VISIONS offers its EA-HMI series of human-machine interface (HMI) displays for connecting operator panels to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) through Modbus. The displays are available in five different sizes 2.8 to 12 inches, the displays support touch input and configurable screens for monitoring and control in industrial environments.
The displays can provide text, numeric, bar chart, graphical and other visual information from the selected information within the PLC. The engineer can configure the screens using the free HMI Designer software provided by the company. Using a drag and drop approach, the engineer can easily assign Modbus registers to the visual elements so that the user has a display tailored to their application.
The displays support Modbus RTU via RS-485 and Modbus TCP via LAN/Wi-Fi. The displays can communicate with PLCs from manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Schneider Electric and Siemens.
The displays can be used as a client/master or server/slave. In smaller applications they can be used stand alone with one or more sensors connected to the display.
In high ambient lighting environments typical of industrial environments, the EA-HMI range provide typical brightness of 1000cd/m² and near 180 degree viewing angles, making sure the displays can be seen from wherever they are viewed.
The displays have been designed for use in mechanical and plant engineering, building automation and OEM applications where an operator interface is required to monitor equipment.
