Eldaas have launched elSoM-5EV, a robust System on Module (SoM) that combines the processing capabilities of a CPU with the real-time parallel processing power of an FPGA. This cost-effective module, featuring a compact form factor and a user-friendly embedded development board, enables the seamless deployment of a wide range of applications with ease. The elSoM-5EV is powerful and compact, measuring 60mm by 50mm in size. Its high-speed board-to-board connectors, provided by SAMTEC, offer access to 143 pins on the development board (elDB-5EV).

The SoM has a Quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 MPCore for application processing, a Dual-core Arm Cortex-R5F MP Core for real-time processing, and an Arm Mali-400 MP2 graphics processing unit. With a wide range of rich peripherals, including PCIe Gen2, USB3.0, SATA 3.1, DisplayPort, and Gigabit Ethernet, this System on Module (SoM) is well-suited for various embedded applications. Intended Applications for the SoM encompass diverse embedded uses, including but not limited to Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Smart Vision, Image Manipulation, Graphic Overlay, Human-Machine Interface, Video Processing, and Interactive Display.

Memory options for the module include PS-DDR4 with capacities of 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB, boasting a speed of 2400 MT/s, PL-DDR4 available in 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB configurations, a 64MB QSPI, and eMMC storage options of 16GB or 32GB. The module has a compact board size of 94 x 63 mm and can operate efficiently within an industrial temperature range of -40 °C to +85°C. It is compatible with operating systems such as Petalinux and Bare Metal, offering versatility to suit various requirements. The elSoM-5EV module is available in 12 different variants, providing flexibility to address a range of applications.
