Sustainability has transitioned from being merely a trend to becoming a pressing necessity. We should actively seek opportunities to minimize our CO2 emissions. In line with this commitment, SCHURTER has introduced its Green Line products. These items are crafted from top-tier bio-based plastics derived from plant-based sources, underlining our dedication to a greener future. The products 6100-3, 6100-4, 6102-3, 6102-5, 6600-3, and 6600-4 are IEC 60320 compatible appliance connectors. These connectors are now also available in versions crafted from bio-based plastics.

The company claims that the “Green Line” is a product range of components designed to actively reduce the current CO2 emissions and decrease reliance on fossil resources.

An eco-conscious substitute for the commonly used fossil-based plastics is the utilization of plastics derived from plant-based sources. These plant-based materials possess a carbon-neutral footprint throughout their entire life cycle, resulting in substantial reductions in CO2 emissions associated with the products. Furthermore, bio-based plastics often exhibit lower densities than their fossil counterparts, leading to decreased material consumption.

Some of the technical specifications of the green line products include:

  • Ratings IEC 10 A / 250 VAC; 50 Hz
  • Ratings UL/CSA 15 A / 250 VAC; 60 Hz
  • Dielectric Strength > 2 kVAC between L-N, > 2 kVAC between L/N-PE(1 min/50 Hz)
  • Allowable Operation Temperature-25 °C to 70 °C
  • Protection against electric shock: Suitable for appliances with protection class I acc. to IEC 61140
  • Terminal: Solder / Quick Connect
  • Material: Housing Thermoplastic, black, UL 94V-0

Additional products featuring the integrated IEC 60320 appliance connectors will be introduced shortly. The company is committed to providing a comprehensive product lineup with a markedly diminished CO2 footprint.
