Faster and More Compact Photorelay for Improved Performance

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has introduced its latest photorelay, the TLP3476S. The new model offers significant advancements over its previous model. The TLP3476S comes in a compact S-VSON4T package and boasts a reduced turn-on time that is half as long as its predecessor. The photo relay offers faster operating speed, better optical coupling efficiency making it suitable for applications in pin electronics of semiconductor testers, which heavily rely on numerous relays and demand shorter switching times. The company also claims that the new photo relay is 20% slimmer, making it suitable for equipment requiring multiple boards, reducing overall size. The TLP3476S offers engineers and designers greater flexibility and improved performance in their applications.

According to the company, the TLP3476S features an improved operating speed and compact design. The company was able to achieve high-efficiency optical coupling by enhancing the optical output of the infrared LEDs and optimizing the design of the photodiode arrays in the photodetector devices. These advancements contribute to a maximum turn-on time of just 0.25ms, representing a 50% reduction in comparison to the previous model.
