Advanced Energy Industries has announced the high-power, liquid-cooled, configurable power solution at the Battery Show in Novi, Mi. The iHP Liquid joins an expansive lineup of smart, digitally adaptable power solutions, offering versatile power options for various sectors, including industrial, lighting, horticulture, medical, and semiconductor fields. The solution stands out because it supplies up to 20 kW of power, all housed within a compact 4U rack design. Perfect for settings where fan-based air cooling is unsuitable, this fully enclosed unit offers versatile application with the option for a single output or expanded to eight outputs as needed. Ten customizable output modules can be set for constant voltage or current modes, allowing for precise adjustment. Moreover, these modules can be paired in series or parallel configurations to elevate voltage or current accordingly, enabling the iHP to achieve impressive peaks of up to 1600 A or 1000 V.

Featuring a 3-phase, 4-wire input, the high-power liquid solution is equipped with active Power Factor Correction (PFC), guaranteeing minimal Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and a power factor exceeding 0.98 at full load. This advanced system can escalate to power levels as high as 120 kW with a remarkable efficiency of up to 94.8% by synchronizing six 4U iHP units to operate in parallel. This control mechanism accommodates both simple analogue voltage inputs and more intricate digital controls through the optional PowerPro connect module, a versatile tool that connects to a cloud- and dashboard-integrated, user-configurable Graphical User Interface (GUI) via standard Ethernet, supporting multiple communication protocols including Digital Ethernet User Datagram Protocol (UDP), RS485, MODBUS, Controller Area Network (CAN), and Ethernet Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP-IP).

“Managing operating temperatures is crucial to delivering reliable operation while also controlling running costs,” said Chris Jones, Director of Technical Marketing at Advanced Energy. “Built upon our well-established configurable technology, the new iHP Liquid delivers up to 20 kW of power in a compact 4U rack form factor within a fully sealed outer box, making it ideal for locations where airborne dirt or moisture may be present. The iHP series comes with a wide range of available output power modules, accessories and software, enabling this solution to be quickly and easily tailored to almost any application.”
