With plug-and-play convenience and high efficiency even in extreme conditions, these converters offer reliability.

RECOM has expanded its lineup of cost-effective, regulated DC/DC converters tailored for mobility applications by introducing new models delivering a 400W output. Among these models are the RMOD400-28-13SW, featuring a broad input range from 16.8V to 56V and a 13V output, the RMOD400-60-24SW, which operates within an input range of 33.6V to 96V (with a peak of 125V) and provides a 24V output, and finally, the RMOD400-80-13SEW, offering an ultra-wide input range of 33.6V to 125V and a 13V output. The key features include:

  • On-Board DC/DC Converter
  • E-Mobility and industry vehicles
  • Plug & Play, ready to use
  • The chassis mount and base plate cooled
  • Full power at ambient temperature up to 85°C
  • Water and dustproof (IP69K), robust and reliable
  • High and extremely constant efficiency

These converters are designed explicitly for on-board power conversion in mobility and industrial vehicles, even in exposed areas. All components in this range boast an IP69K rating, ensuring robust protection against water and dust, and are readily deployable with sealed plug-and-play connections. The RMOD400 series adopts a chassis-mounted configuration with baseplate cooling, guaranteeing high efficiency that remains consistent even under light loads. These units come in a compact size, measuring only 115 x 203 x 61mm, and can operate with baseplate cooling at ambient temperatures of up to 85°C without experiencing derating.

Comprehensive safety measures, including safeguards against input reverse polarity, over-temperature conditions, output over-current, and short circuits fortify the durability of these components. They also possess an isolation rating of 2.5kVDC at the ‘Basic’ grade level, and are backed by safety certifications such as IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1. Moreover, these parts meet the standard EN 60068, demonstrating resilience to temperature cycling, shock and endurance, humidity/heat cycling, vibration, mechanical shock, and salt spray.

Marco Kuhn, Plug & Play DC/DC product manager at RECOM, highlights the versatility of the RMOD series, stating, “Our RMOD series of DC/DC converters are ‘ready to use’ across a wide range of mobility applications, accommodating different nominal battery voltages. Thanks to their extensive qualifications, you can confidently install them in various locations, knowing you have a high-reliability solution.”
