Robust And Compact TFT Displays With OLED Viewing Angles

Offer all-round viewing angles, thanks to their extraordinary brightness that allow perfect readability even in extremely bright environments

Conventional TFT displays have one weak point: the more you look at the display at a slant, the weaker the contrast becomes. At a certain angle, it can even tip over completely (greyscale inversion effect). Self-luminous OLED panels don’t have this effect, however, are limited in providing maximum brightness and lifetime.

Resolving this issue are the IPS colour displays that combine the best of both techniques. Thanks to their All Angle Color Stability (AACS) technology, contrast and colours of these graphic displays remain unchanged even at extreme viewing angles.

The displays have a brightness of up to 1000 cd/m², allowing clear readability in direct sunlight. Whether in the operating room or outdoor measuring station, these displays are suitable for offering a single glance to obtain the required information.

The compact TFT displays come in varied sizes from 5cm (2 inches) to 17cm (7 inches) with a capacitive multi-touch surface. The smallest version has a fine resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and is only 2.2mm thin.

The panels are easy to install with flex cable connection and matching ZIFF connector. They can be controlled via the classic RGB interface (16 or 24 bit). The smaller displays (5cm, 7.11cm and 8.89cm) can be additionally connected via SPI. The supply voltage is 3.3V and the displays are compatible with any kind of microcontroller.

Designed for tough, continuous industrial use, the TFT displays operate reliably between -20 degrees Celsius and +70 degrees Celsius. The TFT panels, having a service life of at least 50000 operating hours, are available from Electronic Assembly.
