VS775 from VSI is the first commercial serializer/deserializer (SerDes) IC that complies with the ASA Motion Link standard. The VS775 provides a data transmission rate of up to 16 Gbps so that the ECU can quickly process high-resolution image data collected by vehicle image sensors, especially electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles. The SerDes IC provides a commercial camera link semiconductor solution that will resolve the bandwidth concerns associated with using more high-resolution image sensors in advanced autonomous vehicle designs.  The VS775 is a power-efficient SerDes in an ultra-compact size that can help designers build safer autonomous vehicles.

The VS775 is fully ASA compliant and provides a commercial camera link semiconductor solution that will resolve the bandwidth concerns associated with using more high-resolution image sensors in an advanced autonomous vehicle. It is designed to support asymmetric high-speed data links in a point-to-point topology while providing high-speed unidirectional data and bidirectional control data. These chipsets are robust against impulsive noise and equipped with high-precision equalizers supporting up to 40dB insertion loss.

The VS775 also provides Forward Error Correction (FEC) capabilities, eliminating the need for re-transmissions which is crucial for safety-critical automotive applications. This interoperable SerDes solution will provide automotive OEMs and their suppliers with high-speed link solutions for their growing number of sensors (Cameras, Radars, Lidars) and displays that enable automotive applications such as Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS), In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI), and ultimately, autonomous vehicles.
