Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) have launched Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) new modular, multi-protocol storage (MP) solution, HPE Alletra Storage MP, powered by AMD Embedded Series processors. The embedded processors deliver the necessary performance and energy efficiency for storage systems designed for enterprise-class usage. The company claims the storage solution offers high availability, resilience, industry-leading connectivity, and long-lasting performance. According to the press release issued by the company the storage MP is a versatile storage solution that enables a disaggregated infrastructure, supporting multiple storage protocols on a single hardware platform. With the ability to configure block and file stores, customers can quickly deploy, manage, and orchestrate data and storage services through the edge-to-cloud platform, regardless of the specific workload or storage protocol.

The company claims that the storage solution offers independent scalability for performance and capacity requirements. HPE GreenLake for File Storage, built on the foundation of HPE Alletra MP, claims to deliver a scalable file service that enhances the processing speed of data-intensive workloads. It offers enterprise-level performance at scale, enabling read throughput to surpass hundreds of gigabytes per second and even exceeding the 1-gigabyte threshold. The press release highlights that powered by HPE Alletra Storage MP and managed through the HPE GreenLake platform, the enhanced HPE GreenLake for Block Storage delivers an intuitive cloud experience, efficient scalability, and high resiliency and performance. It is designed to meet the demands of mission-critical applications and mixed workloads, providing a reliable and high-performing storage solution.
