Nowadays, the control of many electrical vehicle systems requires high currents. To meet this need, Bosch has developed the HCR 100 high-current relay, a power relay with a rated switching current of 100 amps. The new high-current relay ensures reliable control of the latest electrical vehicle systems and components requiring higher switching currents. Previous power relays were designed to switch currents up to 75 amps. Typical applications for more powerful high-current relays include engine management control, glow plugs, pre-heating systems, loading ramps, start-stop systems, and heated vehicle windshields. The new relay can be used in many types of vehicles, including light and heavy trucks, agricultural machinery, buses, and campers, as well as in boats and stationary applications.

The high-current relay is suitable for a wide range of users, including vehicle manufacturers for electric and hybrid vehicles, trucks, buses, and agricultural machinery, as well as OEMs for vehicle systems requiring high-current switching like engine management, glow plugs, pre-heating systems, and heated windshields. It is also suitable for automotive suppliers, heavy-duty vehicle users, the marine industry for boats, and stationary equipment applications. Engineers and manufacturers working on future vehicle systems will also find it valuable.

The HCR 100 offers low contact resistance and can handle a continuous current of 100 amps at 85°C. It’s available in both 12-volt and 24-volt versions, covering current global applications. With Bosch’s ongoing expansion of the portfolio to meet market demands, this relay is also prepared for future uses. Bosch power relays are built to resist heat, moisture, and vibration and are dust-tight according to the IP54 standard. Made from high-quality materials with strong corrosion protection and precise craftsmanship, these relays are durable and reliable. They operate in temperatures ranging.
