BEL Recruitment 2025: Notification for Project Engineer and Trainee Engineer Positions

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, invites applications from qualified and motivated engineering professionals for the positions of Project Engineer-I and Trainee Engineer-I. The recruitment is for the Machilipatnam Unit in Andhra Pradesh and aims to fill eight vacancies across Electronics and Mechanical disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree (4-year course) from a recognized university/institution.
• For Project Engineer (Electronics): Specialization must be in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Communication, or Telecommunication Engineering.
• For Project Engineer & Trainee Engineer (Mechanical): Degree must be in Mechanical Engineering.

Note: Degrees obtained through part-time or correspondence courses are not eligible.

Age Limit (as on June 1, 2025)

• PwBD candidates with at least 40% disability are eligible for a 10-year age relaxation in addition to the applicable category relaxation.

Post-Qualification Experience (as on June 1, 2025)

• Project Engineer-I: Minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification industry experience is required.
  • Preferred for Electronics: PCB testing and troubleshooting, experience with VDSP, Quartus/Xilinx, hardware testing, Environmental Stress Screening (ESS).
  • Preferred for Mechanical: Precision device testing and assembly, pneumatic systems, exposure to manufacturing processes and workshop tools.
• Trainee Engineer-I: No prior experience required. Fresh graduates are eligible.

Note: Academic projects, research work, teaching experience, and internships will not be considered. However, a completed one-year apprenticeship will be counted as experience.

Important Dates

Remuneration Structure

Project Engineer-I

• 1st Year: ₹40,000/- per month
• 2nd Year: ₹45,000/- per month
• 3rd Year: ₹50,000/- per month
• 4th Year: ₹55,000/- per month
• Retention Bonus: ₹1,00,000/- upon successful completion of the 4-year tenure

Trainee Engineer-I

• 1st Year: ₹30,000/- per month
• 2nd Year: ₹35,000/- per month
• 3rd Year: ₹40,000/- per month

Additional Benefits

• Annual Allowance: ₹12,000/- for medical insurance, attire, and miscellaneous expenses
• Area Allowance: 10% of monthly remuneration if posted outside Machilipatnam at locations without a BEL unit

Selection Procedure

1. Written Test (90 minutes duration)
   • Project Engineer: 85 marks
   • Trainee Engineer: 100 marks
   • Note: Negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
2. Personal Interview (only for Project Engineer-I candidates shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio)
3. Document Verification: Original certificates must be presented during the walk-in.

Step 2: Application Fee Payment (Only for Project Engineer applicants)

• ₹472/- (₹400 + 18% GST) via SBI Collect.
• SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Bring the following documents:

• Printed Google Form response
• Completed application form with photograph
• Payment receipt (if applicable)
• Original and one set of photocopies of:
  • SSC certificate
  • B.E./B.Tech mark sheets and degree
  • Caste/EWS/PwBD certificate
  • Aadhar card
  • Experience certificates (for Project Engineer)
