New transient voltage suppression diodes rated at 3 kA provide compact protection for DC buses, PoE systems, data centre supplies and industrial equipment.

Littelfuse Inc, launches the DFNAK3 Series of High-Power TVS Diodes, essential for transient voltage suppression in electronic circuits. This suppresses 3 kA surge current in compact design format. This targets electronic systems that require protection against voltage spikes in DC-powered and Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications.
TVS diodes safeguard electronics from transients caused by lightning strikes, power switching, or electrostatic discharge.
This TVS diode series uses a compact DFN package (Dual Flat No-lead), offering 70% smaller footprint and is also 70% lower in height than standard SMD-type coated packages. This enables space-constrained, high-density PCB designs without compromising surge performance or system robustness.
The series is designed to meet IEC 61000-4-5 Level 4 requirements, the standard levels for telecom, industrial and power equipment. It offers lower clamping voltage reducing the electrical stress applied to downstream circuits, improving system reliability.
