The Electronic Gaming Machine (EGM) Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of electronic gaming machines to ensure smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and an excellent gaming experience. The role involves technical support, machine performance monitoring, and coordination with internal teams and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and commission electronic gaming machines (EGMs) as per operational standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure maximum uptime of gaming machines.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues in EGMs.
- Monitor machine performance, payouts, and error logs; take corrective actions when required.
- Ensure compliance with gaming regulations, technical standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to machine configurations, service logs, and updates.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for upgrades, spare parts, and technical support.
- Assist in software updates, firmware upgrades, and system enhancements.
- Conduct periodic inspections and audits of gaming machines.
- Train floor staff or technicians on basic EGM operations and handling procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safety, security, and responsible gaming practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electronic gaming machines and gaming systems.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of gaming compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with EGMs, slot machines, or gaming systems (preferred).
- Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.
