High-Speed Wi-Fi And Bluetooth Chip

Slow or unreliable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth? This solution handles both, makes connections faster, and lets your main processor focus on running apps smoothly.

Many modern devices struggle with congested wireless networks, high-latency communication, and the challenge of running Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together efficiently. Applications such as AR/VR, smart-home hubs, connected appliances, industrial automation, and high-bandwidth streaming need fast, reliable wireless links without overloading the main processor.

The ESP32-E22 addresses these issues by acting as a dedicated Radio Co-Processor. It handles the full Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocol stacks, including security, authentication, scanning, roaming, and host functions, and offloads all networking tasks from the main processor. This allows designers to focus their system’s main processor entirely on application logic.

The module introduces tri-band Wi-Fi 6E to devices for the first time, supporting 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with 160 MHz channels, 2×2 MU-MIMO, Beamforming, and advanced link-layer scheduling for high-speed, low-latency performance in crowded networks. It also integrates a Bluetooth controller supporting Bluetooth Classic (BR/EDR) and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, with built-in coexistence algorithms to ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operate reliably at the same time.

At its core, the ESP32-E22 uses a dual-core 500 MHz RISC-V processor developed by Espressif. It efficiently manages protocols and supports advanced modulation, including 1024-QAM, delivering data rates up to 2.4 Gbps. Designers can connect it to Espressif’s SoCs or third-party processors via high-speed interfaces such as PCIe 2.1 or SDIO 3.0.

The ESP32-E22 is a versatile wireless platform suitable for high-bandwidth streaming, wireless video links, next-generation smart-home hubs, connected appliances, industrial automation, bridging solutions, and AR/VR devices requiring low-latency communication. By combining tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth Classic, and Bluetooth LE 5.4 in one SoC, it provides a secure, scalable, and efficient platform for consumer and industrial applications, giving developers a flexible foundation for advanced wireless products.c
