A resistor designed to maintain accuracy and stability, handling heat, power, and stress where traditional designs fail to meet real-world demands.

Panasonic has developed the ERJPC Series of high-precision thick-film chip resistors, designed to deliver thin-film-level accuracy while retaining the environmental robustness of thick-film construction. The series achieves resistance tolerance of ±0.1% and temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of ±25 ppm/K, allowing high-precision operation in automotive, industrial, and data server applications.
Traditional thick-film resistors often trade precision for durability or power handling. The series addresses this by combining proprietary materials and process design to provide both high-accuracy performance and environmental resilience. This enables reliable operation under challenging conditions such as exposure to electrostatic discharge, contamination, or temperature variations.
The resistors also offer higher power ratings than comparable thin-film devices, for example, a 0603-sized resistor supports 0.2 W versus 0.1 W in typical thin-film equivalents. The series is available in 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206 inch sizes, and is suitable for applications including op-amp amplifiers, voltage dividers, and voltage/current sensing circuits. Compliance with AEC-Q200 and RoHS directives, along with the use of lead-free materials, ensures suitability for automotive and industrial systems.
“The ERJPC Series demonstrates that thick-film technology can achieve precision previously associated with thin-film designs,” says Clara Lagomarsini, Product Manager at Samsung Industries, Europe. “It combines high accuracy, stability, and power handling in a single platform, providing flexibility for a wide range of applications.”
By integrating precision, environmental robustness, and enhanced power capability, the resistor series provides a versatile solution for circuits where both performance and reliability are required.
