Security Systems Get Built-In Audio

What if your security system could warn intruders with its own voice? Speakers, cameras, and alarms can now work together during incidents.

Hikvision has launched a new range of network speakers designed to add audio capabilities to its security portfolio, enabling organizations to combine audio broadcasting with video surveillance, alarm systems, and other security technologies. The speakers can be used for real-time announcements, automated warnings, emergency notifications, and routine communications across a wide range of facilities.

The lineup includes network horn, ceiling, cabinet, and column speakers, allowing deployment in environments such as warehouses, factories, hospitals, schools, office buildings, shopping centres, and transportation hubs. By integrating audio with existing security infrastructure, organizations can communicate with people on-site more effectively during both routine operations and emergency situations.

One of the key applications is the combination of audio and video technologies. The speakers can work alongside cameras and alarm systems to deliver voice warnings when potential threats or unauthorized activities are detected. This allows security teams to respond to incidents in real time, helping with perimeter protection, danger prevention, and emergency management.

The speakers support several broadcast modes, including live broadcasting, scheduled announcements, alarm-triggered messages, and emergency mustering notifications. As a result, a single system can be used for security alerts, public announcements, paging, and background music.

For system management, the speakers are compatible with Hikvision’s HikCentral Professional platform, network video recorders, and selected third-party systems. Features such as centralized management, batch device deployment, remote configuration, and software upgrades are intended to simplify installation and ongoing maintenance.

With the introduction of the network speaker range, The company is extending its security ecosystem beyond video surveillance, offering organizations a more integrated approach to monitoring, communication, and emergency response.
