PCB Cleaner Removes Flux Residue

Vinita Electronics has introduced FR104, a concentrated PCB cleaning solution from Apex Meditech for removing flux residue and other contaminants from printed circuit boards (PCBs) after soldering. Vinita Electronics is the sole distributor of Apex Meditech’s FR104 PCB cleaner. The product is intended for electronics manufacturing, servicing, repair, and PCB maintenance applications.

FR104 is formulated to remove rosin flux and other residues from PCB surfaces without leaving sticky patches or causing discolouration. The cleaner is designed to provide high ionic cleanliness by removing contaminants that can affect the reliability of electronic assemblies. It is also a non-flammable formulation.

The cleaner is supplied as a concentrate that can be diluted with demineralised or filtered water. The diluted solution can be used for manual cleaning, spray cleaning equipment, batch washers, and ultrasonic cleaning systems. A cleaning temperature of around 45°C to 55°C is recommended for typical applications.

FR104 is designed for cleaning PCBs used in different electronic assemblies. The formulation is intended to remove flux residues while retaining component markings, prints, and colour bands on boards and components. It is positioned as an alternative to cleaning solvents such as isopropyl alcohol, acetone, and thinner.

The product can be used in industrial controls, automotive electronics, telecommunications equipment, computers, energy systems, medical and veterinary equipment, and consumer electronics.

FR104 is aimed at electronics manufacturers, PCB assembly companies, repair and service centres, and other users that require post-soldering PCB cleaning. Its key features include a non-flammable formulation, flux-removal capability, and suitability for different PCB cleaning methods.
