Role Summary
The Electrical Designer-Power will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing power components and systems for our medical devices. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power design and hands-on experience with electronic CAD tools and schematic layout. Experience in the medical industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and components that meet project requirements.
- Create and modify electronic schematics and layouts using CAD tools such as Cadence, Mentor, Altium Designer, Eagle, or equivalent.
- Perform complex power system calculations and simulations to ensure robust and efficient designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet both customer needs and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems in accordance with Philips’ quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing during the transition from prototype to production.
- Stay current with advancements in Electrical Designer-Powering and incorporate relevant new knowledge into designs.
- Document designs, tests, analyses, and evaluations clearly and concisely.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Working experience in developing hardware (battery charging systems, step down & step up converters, SMPS) and having a thorough understanding of modern hardware engineering tools, methods, processes.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in power design and electronic CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of medical device regulations and standards (preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Capable of working effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the medical industry, particularly in medical device design.
- Knowledge of IEC standards and FDA regulations related to medical devices.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller design.
