About the internship

As an Embedded system development intern, you will be working on the firmware development for Power Electronics and Motor Drives application. You will have the opportunity to work on live projects, hardware development and engage with cross-functional teams. You will be able to learn and enhance your knowledge about Embedded Systems and Power Electronics. We will ensure you have the most enjoyable and learning-packed internship experience with us.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop embedded firmware for Traction Motor Drives and other Power Electronics applications.
  2. Write and maintain firmware of Embedded devices and sub-systems for EV applications.
  3. Selection of MCUs/DSP/DSC and program embedded processors (TI/Microchip/Renesas/ST) using C language to make use of ADC/DAC/PWM/GPIO modules, communication protocols & Embedded standards (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN bus).
  4. Design and implement protection algorithms and system diagnostics/prognostics.
  5. Test the firmware on the development boards through digital communication, debugger, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer in a lab environment.
  6. Collaborate with the hardware team for prototype development and testing.
  7. Design of electronic circuits using opamps, TL431, transistors, etc.
  8. PCB design and schematics drawing on KiCAD or similar.

Eligibility

Recent graduates or final year BTech/MTech students with some hands-on experience in academic Embedded design projects.

Good to have:

  1. Experience with Eclipse, Code composer studio, MP Lab, STM32cubeide, Keil, IAR embedded workbench
  2. Work experience with interrupts, Polling mechanisms, Timers, and watchdog timers.
  3. Knowledge of basic motor control algorithms, PID, Feedback control, etc.
  4. Expertise in C/C++ programming ( Unions, Structures, loops, pointers, classes, etc.).
  5. Working knowledge of RTOS and operating systems and Controller architectures, communication protocols, ADC, PWM, CAN/LIN, debugging, and Basic Electronics.
