To produce and lead the development of reliable, cost-effective, proven circuit designs, to agreed specifications, in a professional and timely manner.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
- To comply with Expro’s Health, Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
- To develop ideas and circuit designs for equipment used in Expro’s range of products.
- To carry out simulation and modelling of designs to provide reliable performance prediction of products prior to implementation.
- To produce accurate and effective designs (including PCB Layouts giving consideration to environmental requirements and mechanical constraints) and test/qualification documentation to support the implementation of electronic hardware components into Expro’s products.
- To type test and debug complex electronic designs, including recording and tracking of changes as required.
- To attend design reviews as required, and record the outcome to enable changes to be captured effectively.
- To compile detailed and accurate Bills of Materials for the circuit boards and equipment and calculate MTBF figures accordingly.
- To identify and specify tools, jigs and fixtures that may be required to manufacture and test hardware, including third-party equipment such as specialist tools, measurement equipment etc.
- To provide technical support to Operations and Production teams as required.
Job Knowledge And Qualifications
- At least five years of practical experience of various circuit design techniques, for example:
- Signal conditioning circuits (low noise amplifiers, filter circuits etc.)
- DC-DC power conversion
- Data acquisition techniques
- Embedded microprocessor/microcontroller designs
- Low-power circuits for battery-powered equipment
- High temperature electronics
- Embedded C (desirable),
- LabVIEW (desirable)
- Demonstrable experience in producing plans and work packages for Electronic Designs.
- High Level Qualification in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
